We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our growing team.

Job Summary

Gentle Journey Home Care is looking for a reliable and caring Personal Care Assistant (PCA) who is passionate about helping seniors and individuals with disabilities maintain comfort and independence in their own homes. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality personal care with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, oral care, and toileting

• Support clients with dressing, mobility, and transfers

• Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding if necessary

• Provide medication reminders (non-medical)

• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, and tidying living spaces

• Assist with errands, grocery shopping, and transportation to appointments

• Provide companionship and emotional support

• Monitor and report changes in clients’ physical or mental condition

• Follow individualized care plans and document services provided

• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide preferred (but not required — training may be provided)

• Ability to work in a one-on-one client setting

• Compassionate, patient, and supportive personality

• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if transportation is required)

• Ability to pass background check and drug screening (if applicable)

• TB Test Clearance

• CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients safely

• Willingness to follow health and safety protocols

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, or holidays if needed
